ResolutionThe word resolution comes directly from the word resolve. Setting goals, or resolutions, for 2015 or any other year is declaring that you are resolved to achieve that goal in that new year. As almost all of us know, New Years resolutions have become a bad joke for our general lack of commitment and follow through. Happy New Year! 2014 is officially upon us. I don’t know about you, but 2013 was one of the best years of my life.

– I said goodbye to the best sending church in the world.
– I made the biggest, most anticipated move in my life.
– My family was joined by 6 other friends and fellow ministry partners.

10 Unexpected New Year’s Resolutions

In case you’re thinking about doing something new in the new year, here are some suggestions for atypical resolutions:

  1. Start dating your wife again.
  2. Go on a fast for 2+ days.
  3. Go on a missions trip.
  4. Teach your kids something.
  5. Do something generous that you “can’t” afford.
  6. Spend more time with non-church people.
  7. Buy someone’s groceries at the store for them.
  8. Start talking to strangers.
  9. Forgive yourself.
  10. Give sincere compliments to everyone.
